Drake Expands His Partnership With Toronto Raptors

It looks like Drake is expanding his role with the Toronto Raptors.

Already, the Toronto-bred rapper is the "global ambassador" for the team, a title that has found him performing at games, showing up to support the team and even helping to design special OVO jerseys for the team to wear during a few games.

But now Complex reports Drizzy will have a more in-depth role with the organization moving forward, as he'll play a prominent part in the team's new "Welcome to Toronto" campaign.

Specifically, the new campaign will be an "immersive brand experience focused on art, community, and ball." The campaign will also include six "Welcome Toronto" and OVO-themed home games between now and the end the 2017-18 NBA season, essentially enhancing attendees' experience.

Beyond what goes down on the court, Drake and the Raptors have struck up a deal that will impact the community at large. Drake has never shied away from philanthropic efforts, and he'll focus them toward his hometown with this new program.

Together, Drake and the Raptors teamed up to pledge $1 million over the next three years to refurbish basketball courts located throughout the local community. In addition, OVO and The Raptors plan to donate $2 million over the next five years to Canada Basketball. The move is aimed at continuing the sport basketball at the grassroots level in Canada.

Those are major moves for Drake, who has never hidden his love for basketball and sports in general. Of course, this latest info comes on the heels a great 2017 for the rapper. At the end the year, it was solidified that his last album, More Life was Apple's Top Album 2017.
