Andy Murray and his wife Kim have welcomed their third child together.
The tennis star’s mum and former Strictly Come Dancing star Judy confirmed the news during an interview with BBC Scotland‘s Kaye Adams on Monday (November 4), revealing that that Kim had given birth to a “lovely, happy, healthy baby boy” fairly recently.
“It’s lovely news, lovely to have a little boy to go with the two little girls,” she added. “I’ll leave it to Andy and Kim to fill in all the details.”
Andy and Kim, both 32, already share two daughters together: three-year-old Sophia and two-year-old Edie.
Talking about his growing family during the European Open back in October, Andy joked to OK! Magazine: “I’ll have three kids under four years old. When I’ve been off the tour, my family has got bigger so I need to get back on the road so we don’t get out of control!
“I’m excited for the third kid. My wife’s been a huge support for getting me back on the court and making me fight to keep playing.”
Andy also spoke to The Sunday Times ahead of the the baby’s birth, and shared that he’ll “definitely” be taking some time off to help with the new arrival.
“I’ll definitely be taking some time off as we’ll be pretty busy with three children under the age of four,” he said.
“I’ll try to be around as much as possible in the next year, but I know my tennis career won’t go on for ever, so there will need to be a balance between me maximising the next few years and spending quality time with my family. I’m lucky in that I can train close to home, so that lets me do things like the school run whenever I can.”
