The Apple Worldwide Developers Conference is in full swing at the moment and the tech giant just unveiled its newly revamped music streaming service, which is appropriately named Apple Music and rolls features previously found on iTunes Radio and the Beats service into a new platform. Jimmy Iovine and Drake were on hand to help make the announcement and Drizzy told the crowd that he is “tirelessly” working on Views From The 6 and he will be promoting it in part through the new Apple Music Connect feature.
Connect will allow artists both new and established to push tailored content to fans via its own interface as well as all of the major social media networks. Also announced was the new 24/7 Beats One Radio stream with Ebro of Hot 97 and Zane Lowe already on board to provide DJ services. The new Apple Music service officially launches on June 30th and will cost $9.99 per month for individuals and $14.99 for families of up to 6 people. There will not be a free tier like the one offered by Spotify (for now, if the majors get their way), but there will be a free 3 month trial period offered at launch.
