But even though Jen has managed to amass 16 million followers already, there was one person she had to make sure was following her – ex-husband Justin Theroux.
And when Jen realised her ex wasn’t following her, she did what anyone would do – sent him a text telling him to get onboard.
“She actually texted me,” Justin told Entertainment Tonight of his former wife joining the social media site. “She said, ‘You haven’t followed me,’ and I said, ‘Of course I followed you!’ and she’s like, ‘No you haven’t!'”
Justin then revealed that he had in face already clicked the follow button but he was actually one of the people unable to follow Jennifer because her debut caused a glitch on the app.
“I realized I was one of the people caught in the glitch,” Justin continued. “So, I had followed, commented…”
Justin’s Lady and the Tramp co-star, Tessa Thompson then chimed in: “Wait a minute, was there an actual — she created an A-listed glitch?”
Justin explained: “Like, literally broke Instagram. People were having trouble being recognised as following.”
Jen made her Instagram debut by sharing a Friends reunion pic, featuring her and co-stars Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow and David Schwimmer.
She captioned the pic: “And now we’re Instagram FRIENDS too. HI INSTAGRAM.”
Since then Jen has gone on to show her funny side on the app, most recently posting a behind-the-scenes pic from a recent photoshoot.
Friends airs daily on Comedy Central in the UK and is also streaming on Netflix.
