Las Vegas rockers The Killers stormed Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage yesterday (June 29), but their headline slot also included an unexpected celebrity cameo.
Following hot on the heels of Game of Thrones star Jacob Anderson making a surprise appearance during Stormzy’s Friday headline slot, festival goers (and the thousands more watching at home) were treated, randomly, to an appearance by 8 Out of 10 Cats‘ very own Jimmy Carr.
The comedian could be seen sweeping the stage during one of the soundchecks in a break between the band’s performance of ‘When You Were Young’ and their euphoric duet with The Pet Shop Boys on ‘Always On My Mind’.
“Check, one two,” he whispered into a microphone, before continuing to go about his strange business with the stage sweeper.
Although initially unrecognised, the crowd’s attention was quickly drawn to the comedian as his cameo was booted up to the humongous stage-side screens for all to see.
“Jimmy! Jimmy! Jimmy!” one guy could be heard chanting, while Jimmy nonchalantly strolled around the equipment.
His amusing cameo didn’t go unnoticed on Twitter either, with plenty of viewers logging on to social media to share their confusion/enjoyment over his appearance.
There’s just one day left off the 2019 Glastonbury festival now, with the line-up boasting the likes of Kylie Minogue, Black Mirror‘s Miley Cyrus and Vampire Weekend on its final day. The Cure are lined up as the Sunday night headliners.
