Another day, another Twitter row between Piers Morgan and Dan Walker.

The Good Morning Britain and BBC Breakfast hosts have clashed on the social media platform on multiple occasions, and this latest round kicked off after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle (the subjects of an inordinate amount of tabloid bullying) spoke about being the subjects of an inordinate amount of tabloid bullying.

Piers hit out at the pair, which prompted Dan to say: “Imagine being given a TV show & a newspaper column & using them both to pick on a woman who didn’t want to go out for a second drink with you.”

The GMB host then called his rival the “dullest, most excruciatingly virtue-signalling, tediously opinion-devoid, toe-curlingly snivelling sycophant on TV”, and refuted Dan’s claims that the Duchess of Sussex didn’t want to go out for a second drink with him by adding: “ps For the record, I never asked Meghan for a drink, she asked me.”

In reply, Dan posted: “Imagine losing the plot (and the argument) to the ‘dullest, most excruciatingly virtue-signalling, tediously opinion-devoid, toe-curlingly snivelling sycophant on TV’.”

The two continued to trade insults, with Piers eventually resorting to the tactic of comparing how many Twitter followers they each had. Eventually Dan got bored and joked that there were a lot of “very angry middle-aged men” on Twitter.

“Some very angry middle-aged men on here this afternoon,” he wrote. “I’m off to eat some mince pies. See you later.”

Piers was recently the subject of a petition asking for him to be removed from the ITV morning show. He is currently off our screens – but that’s because he’s on holiday in Beverly Hills.

Good Morning Britain and BBC Breakfast air weekday mornings on ITV and BBC One, respectively.
