Hilary Duff is engaged to her boyfriend Matthew Koma. The actress announced the news this week with a stunning shot of the two of them and the pretty diamond ring he gave her.
“He asked me to be his wife♥️,” she wrote. And she said yes. (He posted an identical shot, captioning it: “I asked my best friend to marry me… @hilaryduff.”)
Duff and Koma have one child together, their six-month-old daughter Banks. The two were first rumoured to be dating in early 2017, People reports, although they didn’t truly get back and stay together until the fall of that year.
In June 2018, Duff announced her pregnancy with Koma’s daughter. Banks was born at the end of October.
Duff has one other child, her seven-year-old son Luca Cruz, whom she had with her ex-husband Mike Comrie.
Duff talked to E! in December 2017 about how her and Koma’s relationship was going, revealing then that it was on-off in the beginning.
“It’s going so great,” Duff said of their status then. “I mean, this is the third time that we’ve dated and I think that what Selena [Gomez] says has so much merit to it. Timing is such a big deal… third time’s a charm!”
Gomez, at the time, had told Billboard of her friendship/then-rekindled romance with Justin Bieber: “I’m 25. I’m not 18, or 19, or 20. I cherish people who have really impacted my life. So maybe before, it could have been forcing something that wasn’t right. But that doesn’t mean caring for someone ever goes away. And [that goes for] people in general.”
Gomez and Bieber ultimately split in late February 2018, and Bieber went on to marry Hailey Baldwin.
