MC Lyte Hosts "Pitch & Flow", Hip Hop Competition, at The John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts

Two nights ago, MC Lyte hosted Pitch & Flow, a hip hop competition, at The John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts Family Theater. The competition paired socially conscious emcees with social entrepreneurs who battled it out in front a live audience. Stretch Armstrong was the night’s commentator while both Doug E. Fresh and Roc Nation’s Young Paris gave exciting performances. DJ D-Nice provided the soundtrack for the evening.

Emcee Pressor Lyrical and social entrepreneur Samir Ibrahim took home a monetary grand prize to help fund their venture, SunCulture, which is to create solar-powered irrigation systems that make it cheaper and easier for farmers in East Africa to grow fresh produce and increase their prits.

Pitch and Flow” brought together emcees and entrepreneurs to tackle all types issues at the same time. Emcees and entrepreneurs collaborated in record time and inspired each other in the process,” commented MC Lyte.
