McFly fans have been patiently waiting for the group’s sixth album for the last nine years, and today they finally got some good news.
The band will be releasing one song a week from the record from now until their comeback show at the O2 in November.
Speaking at the launch event to Digital Spy and others, Strictly Come Dancing winner Harry Judd revealed the effect that McBusted had on the band’s relationship.
“Pre-McBusted we had been going from 2003 to 2013, 10 very happy years married as a four-piece,” he said.
“McBusted was incredible, it was the most incredible experience for all six of us but it was strange for the four of us. All of a sudden it was two new band members and the dynamics did change slightly and often we liken being in a band to being married.
“With us, we are never good at talking about stuff. We live in a bubble and then the cracks begin to show and after McBusted, our personal friendships were probably in the worst places they’d been for the entire 13 years we had known each other.

“There is, and always has been, even at the time a deep love for one another and a bond that we thought was unbreakable,” Harry added. “It was a weird time. After McBusted it was like, ‘Shit, this isn’t going to happen’. Then it was three years in the wilderness.”
Tom Fletcher added: “It is like a marriage and it was almost like we had an affair. We got through that, we had marriage counselling, we’ve been seeing other people for a while but we didn’t get divorced.
“McFly is who we are destined to be, the O2 feels like renewing our vows.”
Tickets for McFly’s new show will go on sale at 9am on Friday, September 13. Tickets are available here.
